Life Structure & Recovery

... To love and serve God by loving and serving broken people

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me…I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."  Matthew 25:35-40

Our Objectives

  • To extend the love of Christ by encouraging and equipping individuals and families.
  • To be in partnership with God, the Church and the community to help people...
    • Take responsibility for the unproductive direction of their lives
    • Change the direction of their lives to a Christ-filled and productive life
    • Meet basic physical needs while encouraging a deeper faith in Christ to speak, provide, and act on their behalf in every situation
    • To gain the skills and resources to be productive citizens and lovers of Christ
City Church desires to co-labor and journey with those in the church community who are struggling to free themselves from alcohol and drugs or other bad habits or hang ups - as well as those who are in need of support in reconstructing their lives through:
  1. Counseling:
A staff person will counsel individuals/families as they work to discover solutions to overcome their problems and gain a deeper, trusting relationship with Christ.
  2.
  3. Mentoring:
Extra support will be provided during this challenging time. A listening ear, encouraging word, and constructive accountability can make the journey bearable..
  4.
  5. Accountability:
While not meant to be invasive or controlling, we need to have a real understanding of the situation and circumstances. This is the way in which we can provide accountability in our decisions of assisting individuals or families.

In Matthew 28:18—20, Jesus told us the goal of all this was “to make disciples.” It is our hope that those who are deeper in faith of Christ, will reach out to those who are not yet strong in theirs. If we all gave of ourselves to a few people, we could one day, “turn the world upside down.” (Acts17:6). This is how Jesus did it.
