The Great Commission
City Church is committed to being involved in missions! Our purpose in doing so is three-fold:
- To fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8)
- To see men and women saved and taught in the knowledge of God (Ephesians 4:11-13)
- To minister to the totality of human need according to Matthew 10:42, 25:31-46, John 13:35 and Ephesians 2:10
Definition of Missions
City Church's definition of missions is as follows:
- Overseas ministry or ministry to another culture within our own country.
- Evangelizing, practicing discipline, planting churches and aiding in their growth and development overseas and in the United States.
- Any ministry extending beyond the congregation, the church facilities or the local influence of the church.
Missions Team
The Missions Team meets regularly and is responsible for recommending missionaries for approval by the church Council, classifying each missionary, and setting financial support. A minimum of six members serve on this team.
